Work with Conviction

Have an idea for working together, or want to explore funding? Start with a short enquiry about what you hope to achieve.

Start with a conversation

You might work for a community organisation, a criminal justice service, a university or a funding body. You might have an idea of your own. Tell us what you have in mind and who it would help.

Conviction is small, so any collaboration needs to fit the time, skills and resources available. An initial conversation is a chance to explore that fit.

What we could discuss

Useful information

Ideas for clearer guidance, useful resources or ways to help people find information through the Criminal Justice Hub.

Research and experience

Questions about access to justice, autism and neurodiversity, or fair treatment. Read about our interests and approach.

Access and communication

Ways to make information easier to understand and use, including ideas informed by people’s experience of the system.

Skills and time

If you would like to contribute as an individual, our volunteering page explains how to express an interest.

These are topics for discussion, not a list of active projects or established partnerships.

Considering funding our work?

Tell us about your programme or the work you are interested in supporting, including any eligibility requirements and decision dates.

A useful starting point is the need you want to address, what a manageable piece of work could achieve and what evidence you would need. Any proposal would need an agreed scope, budget, delivery arrangements and approach to reporting before a commitment is made.

Our About page explains how we are run and milestones in our work. You can also find us in Clinks’ Partnership Finder, which lists organisations working in criminal justice.

You can ask about governance, finances, capacity or relevant policies in your enquiry. Please check which information is available for the work you are considering.

Tell us about your idea

In a short first email, include:

  • Your name and organisation, if you are writing on its behalf.
  • What you would like to discuss and who it would help.
  • What you could contribute and what you would need from Conviction.
  • Any relevant timescale, funding conditions or access needs.
Email about working together

Please leave out personal case information. Read our initial contact privacy information before sending more detail.

For help with an individual’s situation, use the enquiry route for family members and professionals.

Before agreeing any work

An exploratory email does not create a partnership, referral arrangement or funding agreement. The people involved would need to agree the purpose, responsibilities, resources and who has authority to commit each organisation.

Where a proposal involves people or their information, the discussion also needs to cover consent, information handling, conflicts of interest and how concerns would be raised. Do not send case records as part of a partnership proposal.
