What this website uses
Cookies are small pieces of information saved in your browser. This website also uses session storage to remember a colour setting you choose.
This notice covers www.conviction.org.uk. We do not use advertising cookies, visitor tracking cookies, embedded videos or social media trackers.
For questions, email contact@conviction.org.uk. Our privacy notice explains your data protection rights.
Your colour preference
The Theme control lets you choose Light, Dark or Device. Device follows the colour setting on your phone or computer.
convictionThemeSession
Provider: Conviction.
Purpose: remembers Light or Dark when you choose it, so your colours stay the same as you move between pages in the same tab. It contains only your colour choice. It is not sent to us or used to identify you.
Duration: the current tab’s browser session. Some browsers restore this information when reopening a tab. Choose Device to remove the preference immediately.
We use this storage only to provide the setting you request during your visit. It does not require a separate consent choice. If your browser blocks storage, you can still change the theme for the page you are reading.
The website also removes an older colour preference called convictionTheme, if it is still saved in your browser.
Website security
Cloudflare checks requests to help protect the website against harmful automated traffic. It may block requests that fail these checks.
The pages do not contain advertising, social media tracking or visitor analytics scripts. Our privacy notice explains the technical information used to deliver and protect the website.
Website hosting
Cloudflare hosts the pages and handles the technical information needed to deliver them, such as your IP address and the page requested. We do not use this information to build a profile of you.
If you visited an earlier version of this website, your browser may still hold a cookie called __Host-appgarden-visitor. The website now asks your browser to delete it. We do not use that identifier or send it to the previous host.
Read the Cloudflare privacy policy for information about its services and processing outside the UK.
Your choices
Choose Device in the Theme control to remove your saved colour preference. You can also inspect, delete or block cookies and other website data in your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking browser storage prevents us from remembering your colour choice between pages.
We do not ask you to accept optional cookies because this website does not use them.
Links to the Criminal Justice Hub and other websites open separate services with their own privacy information. Quick exit opens BBC Weather. It does not remove cookies or browsing history.
Questions and changes
We update this notice when the website’s use of cookies or browser storage changes.
If you have a question or concern, email contact@conviction.org.uk. You do not need to send personal case information. You can also raise a concern with the ICO.
